Vanna has worked as National Monitoring Expert since July 2008. Vanna came to BirdLife with a masters degree in Aquaculture and Aquatic Resource Management, from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. Vanna's masters thesis focused on community-based fishery management. As part of his thesis, Vanna conducted a survey in Krala Peah village, at Stung Treng Ramsar site. Vanna has also worked for Stung Treng Provincial Department of Environment, Natural Resource Assessment Office, as Chief of Nature Conservation and Protection.
