Application process
Calls for Letters of Inquiry will be advertised widely, including at BirdLife International in Indochina website. These calls will include specific guidance on geographic scope and application procedures.
Each project must support one of the first three strategic directions in the CEPF investment strategy for Indo-Burma to be eligible for funding (BirdLife is already implementing the fourth strategic direction). The investment strategy and strategic directions for Indochina are summarised in English (PDF, 0.6 MB) and Khmer (PDF, 0.6 MB) and Vietnamese (PDF, 0.5 MB) and Lao (PDF, 0.4KB), and Thai (PDF, 480 KB) and available in FULL in Vietnamese (PDF, 2 MB), and available in FULL in Engish (PDF, 2.5MB).
However, in summary, to apply for a CEPF grant, all applicants must submit a Letter of Inquiry. The Letter of Inquiry form is available here or here (English). Applications for SMALL grants can also be made in Khmer on this LoI form, Lao on this form or Vietnamese on this LoI form or Thai on this form. Before submitting formal Letters of Inquiry, applicants are encouraged to discuss proposal ideas and eligibility with the BirdLife International Regional Implementation Team cepf-rit@birdlife.org.vn
Once a Large Grant Letter of Inquiry is completed for a project over $20,000, send an e-mail to cepfgrants@conservation.org with the completed application attached. You will receive an e-mail acknowledging receipt of the application, and the application will be forwarded to the appropriate team member. You will be contacted thereafter as to how to proceed. Questions or concerns during this process can be sent to cepfgrants@conservation.org
For Small Grant proposals requesting $20,000 or less, the Letter of Inquiry constitutes the full proposal. If a Letter of Inquiry requesting more than $20,000 is recommended for award, the applicant will be notified and invited to submit a full project proposal.
